The Partners

Boo Yang Huay

Founding Partner

Ms Boo graduated from University of  Staffordshire in 1999. She practise at Messrs CS Tang & Co. and Messrs YM Chin & Partners before setting up Messrs YH Boo & Partners.

She has been involved in numerous litigation cases in a myriad of areas from general litigation to family disputes. The practice areas she specializes in include, inter alia, petition for divorce, commercial disputes, defamation, application for grant of probate and letter of administration, bankruptcy and winding up of company.

Ms Boo is also well versed in drafting all types of documents which include, sale and purchase agreement, tenancy agreement, investment agreement, share sale agreement, partnership agreement, joint venture agreement, housing loan agreement, wills and trust deed.

Tan Leng

Partner

Mr Tan Leng is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with close to twenty (20) years of legal practice experience.

Mr Tan Leng graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2004 and a Master of Laws in 2006, specialising in corporate law. He obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 2006 and completed his pupillage under the guidance of one of the partners of Messrs T.J. Chin & Co.

Mr Tan Leng was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2007 and has since been with Messrs T.J. Chin & Co., where he heads the firm’s Litigation Department. He primarily practises in the areas of general litigation and conveyancing.

Liau Pin Chun

Legal Assistance

Liau Pin Chun is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2024.

Pin Chun practises primarily in the general civil and criminal litigations, with experience in advising and representing clients in matters involving family issues, debt recovery, will and estate, police statement recording, criminal trials etc.

Prior to joining Y.H Boo & Partners, Pin Chun read in the chamber of Shashi Devan, a senior criminal litigation lawyer. Her practice is characterised by thorough preparation, analytical thinking, and a commitment to achieving effective outcomes for her clients.

In addition to her legal practice, Pin Chun has a keen interest in public policy, legal reform, article writings, and community service.

Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.

Ms Chong graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with honours in Bachelor of Law degree in 2018. Upon graduation, She commences her pupillage in Messrs Mah-Kamariyah & Philip Koh. Upon admission to the High Court of Malaya as an advocates & solicitors, she was accepted as legal assistance in the same firm focusing mainly  in contractual disputes, corporate matters, construction disputes, arbitration, land law and tort.

Ms Chong was an active mooter during her time at university. Being runner-up for the World Mandarin Debating Championship (SEA region), second runner-up for June-Forth Goddess of Democracy Cup. She was also panel judge and represented Malaysia in various International Debate Competitions. In 2020, she was selected as representative for P070 (Kampar) in the Digital Parliament Malaysia.

Ms Chong joined Messrs YH Boo & Partners in 2020 and with her strong background, aspires to bring the firm into a well respected law firm that serves the needs of the local community.

Tan Leng

Mr Tan Leng is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with close to twenty (20) years of legal practice experience.

Mr Tan Leng has been involved in the following areas of practice: –

  1. Civil litigation in the areas of debt recovery followed by bankruptcy, foreclosure proceedings, winding-up and receivership of companies, writ of seizure and sale and other various modes of execution proceedings;
  2. General conveyancing which included bank facility documentation, loan and security documentation, sale and purchase agreements, leases and tenancies, assignments, various commercial contracts pertaining to sale and purchase of businesses/ shares, trust deeds, power of attorney and drafting of wills.
  3. Banking litigation in the areas of hire-purchase and leasing of various goods, items and/or equipment and disputes relating thereto, and credit card claims;
  4. Contracts and agreements including joint venture agreements and building contracts;
  5. Civil suits relating to goods sold and delivered, commercial contract disputes, construction disputes, breach of contract etc;
  6. Application for summary judgment, third party proceedings and various interlocutory applications;
  7. Family matters including contentious divorce proceedings, judicial separation, child custody, adoption etc;
  8. Labour and industrial relations cases;
  9. Succession matters like probate and administration of estates, small estate distribution, wills and trust deeds;
  10. Defamation and libel proceedings;
  11. Landlord and tenant disputes, distress proceedings etc;
  12. Land disputes in the areas of beneficial ownership, caveatable interest, equity in Malaysia, conflicting interests and priorities, doctrine of notice, vacant possession of land, summary possession of land against squatters etc;
  13. Attended and conducted full trials in the Magistrates Court, Session Court, High Court and appeals hearing at High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court;
  14. Drafting and rendering legal opinions on various legal issues and points of law on diverse matters; and
  15. Drafting legal documents and rendering legal advice on corporate law and matters relating to the Companies Act 2016.

Besides attending courts within the Klang Valley area, Mr. Tan Leng also has had the opportunity to travel to the courts located in other States such as Alor Setar, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Johor Bahru, Muar, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bahru to conduct cases on behalf of his clients.

In April 2026, Mr Tan Leng joined Messrs YH Boo & Partners as a Partner, where he continues to advise and represent clients in a wide range of general litigation and conveyancing matters.
